Penzance
Battery Rocks, Mounts Bay, Mousehole, Lamorna Cove
Penzance is a charming coastal town known for its iconic attractions such as St Michael’s Mount, Jubilee Pool, and the Scillonian ferry. It’s also one of the final major stops before reaching Land’s End, offering a mix of history, stunning views, and access to the Cornish coastline.
From Penzance, you can either hop on our boat to explore the depths of Mount’s Bay or join us on one of the many shore diving spots in the surrounding villages.
Popular dive sites include Battery Rocks, located just behind the Jubilee Pool, where you’ll find vibrant seagrass beds and seaweed gardens. Similar dive conditions can be experienced along the shoreline between Mousehole and Newlyn, with depths typically reaching up to 10 metres.
By day, the seagrass and seaweed beds are home to spider crabs, seals, jellyfish, and a variety of fish. At night, however, these underwater landscapes transform, revealing fascinating creatures such as cuttlefish, masked crabs, nudibranchs, and squid.
Diving opportunities in the Penzance area are abundant, with accessible locations wherever you can park a car and safely enter the water. Thanks to the natural shape of Mount’s Bay, the area is sheltered from most wind directions, except those coming from the south, making it a reliable and protected spot for diving adventures.
